Promising Young Woman (2020), directed by Emerald Fennell is an extremely thought provoking account of the female experience and the concept of revenge. This film blew me away the first time I watched it and every time since then, this is a deeply intelligent commentary on female rage, misogyny, abuse, revenge and gender roles. 

Cassandra is a young woman who is traumatised by a tragic event in her past. She seeks out vengeance against those who wronged her and got away with it. I cannot recommend this film enough, it will leave you feeling utterly satisfied yet completely lost. This is a film with meaning, a haunting film that will stick with you, a film that left me completely shattered and moved.
