JoJo Rabbit is a brilliant example of genius filmmaking, not being afraid to approach a certain topic through the lens of satire and comedy yet displaying the upmost respect and intelligence on said topic. JoJo Rabbit from the outside is simply a war movie but once you start watching you realise it is so much more than that. Centred around young JoJo who is conflicted about his place in the world as a Hitler Youth cadet. This film was brought to life from the brilliant mind o

An anthology series which shows us a series of uniquely individual stories, hosted by the mastermind of the weirdly wonderful, Guillermo Del Toro. This series showcases what Del Toro does best, this show embodies everything he is made off and if you enjoy his aesthetic and genre style, you’ll enjoy this. I will say, out of the eight episodes I only truly enjoyed two of them, Episode one and Episode four. Both of these felt a little darker, more sinister and had a genuinely in

Harrison Ford alongside Sean Connery brings some of the best one liners to the franchise and some of my favourite moments between the pair. In 1912, a teenage Indiana Jones discovers a group of robbers finding a crucifix owned by Coronado while exploring caves with his Boy Scout tr

My Initial Thoughts When I first watched Don’t Look Up (2021) it was on New Years Day, I can confidently say it was the wrong film choice to start off the new year. My initial thoughts were that the movie was overtly high brow, condescending and heavy handed. I thought it was a clunky attempt at sending an important message and lost all its credibility. Although, in saying that, after revisiting the film I can confidently say my opinions have changed. I was able to approach t

Encanto (2021) is a beautifully vibrant and bold Disney movie with unforgettable musical renditions from the highly acclaimed Lin Manuel Miranda. Encanto showcases a broad sense of reality and inclusivity, giving us some of the relatable and diverse characters we’ve seen from Disney in a long time. The primary reason this movie belongs on my top 100 list is the music, the music throughout this film is like a virus. Once you catch it you can’t let it go, it overpowers you with
