Alien: Romulus (2024): A Franchise-Expanding Film Review

Alien: Romulus (2024)

With blend of retro and contemporary methods, alien Romulus transports us into another world of science fiction bliss.

Visually engaging, violently entertaining and unbelievably honourable to the original movie. Alien Romulus is a prime example of how to execute a reimagining of a beloved classic, incorporating subtle yet satisfying Easter eggs to delight fans.

Alien Romulus is a cinematic sci-fi feature with a strong storyline, captivating characters (most with an utterly grotesque demise) and countless bone chilling moments.

I went into this film expecting very little, since the original Alien film in 1979 the franchise has slowly started to depreciate in execution and thrill but this film catapults Alien into a new age. The cast were brilliant, each having a distinct personality and quality. Cailee Spaeny was a strong final girl and I thoroughly enjoyed her relationship with Andy.

Overall, Alien Romulus was a beyond thrilling watch. I was completely invested in the story and its characters, the films narrative kept be engaged and the final thirty minutes had my jaw on the floor. Truly magnificent science fiction, a love letter to the original Alien movie that I approve of.
