Unraveling the Mystery of "The Trunk" - A Korean Netflix Thriller Series

Directed by: Kim Kyu-tae

Available on: Netflix

A secret marriage service is uncovered when a trunk washes up on the shore, revealing the strange relationship between a couple in the thick of it all.

This Korean melodrama is made up of 8 episodes and draws you in with its enigmatic storyline, intriguing characters and unusual development. The series is a romantic drama with a murder mystery at the centre, with each episode we learn more about each character and their past. Initially, I was apprehensive but after episode 1 I was hooked into the mystery and needed to understand these characters and their real intentions.

This series is a slow burner but it is pieced together with compelling performances, particularly from Gong Yoo. Everyone is a suspect and you don’t know who you can trust until the very end...
