The Tax Write-off, Coyote Vs Acme (2026) | Film Review
THE TAX WRITE-OFF COYOTE VS ACME
In 2023 Warner Bros. Discovery made the notorious decision to shelve the fully completed movie as a $30 million tax write-off...
Coyote vs Acme (2026) has had a long road of obstacles to finally make it to the big screen but now it’s here and it’s an absolute crowd pleaser. Based on the classic Looney Tunes characters, Wile E. Coyote and his rival The Roadrunner. Wile E. is a starving, inventor who never gives up trying to catch his prey, he uses extravagant mail-order gadgets from the ACME Corporation that always manage to blow up or fail in the most hilarious ways.
Coyote vs Acme (2026) gives the stage to Wile E. Coyote and a chance to hire a billboard lawyer and sue the Acme Corporation for their negligence, in this slapstick, chaotic adventure of friendship and justice.
A film about heartless corporate greed...Yeah, the irony is not lost on me.
A film about the little guy, the insignificant consumer being ignored and used by corporate greed. Coyote vs Acme (2026) is a film riddled with irony but under the films glaring controversy is a story with heart, humility and humour.
Coyote vs Acme (2026) perfectly embodies the timeless chaos of The Looney Tunes, applying real world argument to fictional madness that can only be compared to the greatness of Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988). This is another innovative and entertaining pieces of storytelling that displays the nostalgic yet modern mix of both live action and animation, a medium that I personally admire.
Forget Space Jam!
THIS is the Looney Tunes movie we have been waiting for!
I went to watch this film in an empty screen at 9AM and it changed my day. I was giggling and cackling away to myself constantly. Coyote vs Acme (2026) put a smile on my face and made me feel undeniably nostalgic and quintessentially proud of the community for getting it to the screen. This is a slapstick comedy worthy of the Looney Tunes, it touches on themes of friendship, loneliness, unfulfillment and greed. The idea that someone can keep trying no matter how many times they fail, the message of fighting for what you believe in. Coyote vs Acme (2026) was a pure, unadulterated surprise, the film is the epitome of entertainment.
Film Probe Conclusion
Overall, Coyote vs Acme (2026) is the newest addition to my live-action, animation hybrid favourites. It lives up to the expectation and delivers in genuine gags, comedic timing, ironic and satirical commentary but most of all, watchability. I have no doubt I will watch this film again and I will be recommending it to as many people as possible. Partially to send a bigger message and to support original stories but mostly because I genuinely think this film is well executed and it will put a smile on your face.
The film is filled with Looney Tunes character cameos, so if you grew up watching these cartoons like me, you’ll recognise so many familiar faces, noises and moments. Also, the original score incorporated the Roadrunners iconic sounds into the orchestral score. When I noticed this I was absolutely ecstatic. I don’t want to live in a world where adults don’t laugh at cartoons, I don’t want to live in a world where completed films, excellent films, get shelved and neglected. Thankfully, we get to witness Coyote vs Acme (2026). So, get yourself to the cinema to support it.
