If you call yourself a cinema lover, then you must be familiar with Charlie Chaplin. One of the industries most influential and important icons, his work today might seem a little old to the general consumer but The Gold Rush (1925) is a monumental must see for any Chaplin fan or anyone interested in comedy.
'While on a gold-hunting mission to Alaska, a rogue is hit by a storm and seeks refuge in a hut, where he meets a fugitive and a gold-seeker. However, after reaching the town, he falls for a girl.'
Chaplin was a trailblazer, a pioneer in the film industry and this feature is one of his best due to the plot, comedic moments and his portrayal of The Tramp. The dinner scene when he attempts to eat one of his shoes and goes on to choreograph a dance with bread rolls is unforgettably brilliant.
