A quirky coming of age story that follows Juno, a sixteen year old high-schooler who gets pregnant and takes it upon herself to find the perfect home for her baby.
Juno (2007) is one of those unconventional stories I grew up watching, its unique tone and light hearted approach to teen pregnancy is genuinely refreshing. Rewatching Juno as an adult is also a very funny experience, it still makes me laugh and it still makes me appreciate how beautiful the core story is.
An independent film about a witty 16-year-old, Juno MacGuff (played by Elliot Page), who becomes pregnant and decides to give her baby up for adoption to a couple she finds through a classified ad. Directed by Jason Reitman with a screenplay by Diablo Cody, the film is known for its sharp, sarcastic dialogue, unique characters, and approach to sensitive themes like teen pregnancy and adoption.
Also, it goes without saying the cast is one of the most perfect ensembles, Elliot Page, Michael Cera, Jennifer Garner, Jason Bateman, J. K. Simmons and Allison Janney to name a few.
